Lifeline Outreach is a ministry of hope, mercy and helps which reaches out mainly to the Palestinian people living on the West Bank
This work began in 1992 when Inger Hava, the founder of Lifeline, became involved in voluntary work with a ‘Kids Alive’ sponsored Home for Boys in Ramallah, West Bank. Although the Home no longer exists, Hava’s interest in the well-being of the boys continues. Many of these young men would have no hope of obtaining a vocation or securing a livelihood without this assistance.
Consequently, Hava’s work has brought her into contact with numbers of Palestinian families. Annual visits to these families brings much encouragement and help in down-to-earth, practical ways. Lifeline is dedicated to helping meet people’s needs by providing food, clothing, education, medical supplies and special holiday and care packages.
These efforts have helped many Palestinians overcome despair and resentment produced by the bleak political situation on the West Bank. Lifeline’s deepest hope is for the spiritual and physical reconciliation of both Arab and Jew.
Lifeline relies totally on donations and gifts from those who feel encouraged to contribute to the work. Lifeline uses about 10% of the gifts received to help defray administrative costs. The remaining 90% of the funds are used to meet the needs of Palestinian families on the West Bank. At this point, Lifeline’s office has one low paid helper to do computer work and several unpaid volunteers who give of their time and talents.
